Beware: Do Not Buy the Potensic Atom Drone – Poor Quality & Worst Customer Support
I recently purchased a Potensic Atom 3-Axis Gimbal Drone from Amazon, expecting a decent alternative to DJI. However, just five days after purchase, I started facing connection issues. I reached out to customer support, but all I received were copy-paste responses with no real assistance.
Yesterday, during a normal flight, my drone disconnected from the remote without any warning—despite being only 500 meters from home and already in Return to Home (RTH) mode. But it never came back. I checked everything, including the flight logs, and contacted Potensic’s support team again. Their response? “We are not responsible. The customer is responsible.”
This is completely unacceptable! How is the customer responsible when a brand-new drone malfunctions and disconnects mid-flight? I provided all necessary evidence—logs, pictures, and videos—but they refused to offer any real help.
I regret not choosing a DJI drone instead. I lost $550 in just one second, and Potensic’s customer support was the worst I’ve ever experienced.

I have a Pontesic ATOM drone and really like it. It is so quiet that when I bring in back from a long flight, I can’t hear it. Not until I get it close – real close. If I wasn’t for the gimble pointing downward, showing what’s under me, I’d surely lose and a have the do RTH. I have no problem flying it. I have a 450 GPS helicopter that gives me more trouble that the ATOM.

I very much like your tutorial videos. As an experienced RC model flier I have a question regarding the optimal antenna orientation. In all my other model receivers and radios with dual antennas, the optimal antenna orientation is 90 degrees perpendicular (flat sides towards the model) in order to achieve 90 degree signal polarisation. Would it be wrong or even advisable to do so with the potensic radio antennas?

Nice instruction. Just got my drone from Amazon. Haven’t flown yet, charging batteries and reviewing all instructions before first flight. Researched all reviews before buying, all reviews looked good 👍. Can’t wait for batteries to charge and fly for first time 😊

Mine came with 2 micro cables and no usb c cable. The controller also won't expand enough to span my cheap $100 Walmart phone.

ive had this drone for about 2 weeks now. i haven't had any issues with it. I've been fairly hard on it and crashed it a lot. it still flies great. one of the legs broke but some super glue fixed it. i think this is a great drone for a beginner that wants to take pics or learn the basics of how to operate a camera drone.
